Gold, silver and bronze medals will be given to first, second and third place finishers. Ribbons will be given as is appropriate to the sport. Awards are given Olympic style, giving attention and honor to the winning athletes. Awards are generally given out at the end of each event. Medals not received at the award ceremonies can be picked up at the Arizona Senior Olympics office, during regular business hours, after March 10, 2013
Refunds are given only for bereavement or serious medical reasons and requests must be received by March 20. A doctor’s note or funeral program is required for verification.

In the event of inclement weather, every effort will be made to complete all games and events if possible. No refunds will be given as a result of these circumstances.
Competition is, in most cases, five year age groups such as 50-54, 55-59,
60-64, 65-69 etc. Age divisions may be combined for better competition but medals will be awarded in five year age groups. In some sports verified skill level may be used in place of age groups. See your sport description for details. No one may receive a medal without competing. Age is determined using the first day of the ASO Games (2/16/13) except for Basketball, Softball, Cycling & Volleyball which are determined by age on 12/31/13.
Arizona Senior Olympics conforms to the rules of the National Senior Games Association for the sports which qualify for the national games.
Other sports will follow the rules of the national governing body of that sport except where there are exceptions due to age or safety.
Any player unable to provide the required credentials at the site of the event shall be declared ineligible to compete until he/she can produce them. Athletes are required to bring proof of age and their registration confirmation to check in.
Every athlete is advised to carry proof of insurance in case of an emergency, injury or illness. On site emergency medical assistance is available at many events. Be sure to give us a name and phone number to call in an Emergency when you register.
We encourage all levels of competition in an environment of camaraderie and good sportsmanship. Unsportsmanlike conduct is not accepted and may result in disqualification.
Arizona Senior Olympics could not exist without the help of the hundreds of volunteers who help with the Games. Please show them courtesy and patience. A “thank you” at the end of your event is their pay for the time and effort they spend helping produce the events.
If , when you are not competing, you can help with another event, you would be most welcome as a volunteer. For information call 602-274-7742.
The ASO office is open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9 am to 4pm. You may leave a message at 602-274-7742 and we will return your call as soon as possible.
